What moved the test, and why
A post is written only when a weekly reading or a ruling changes something a reader would want explained: a new measurement on one of the four parts, the headline moving, a claim added to the ledger or settled, the method changed. Each post says what happened, where the record is, what it changes on this site, and what it does not mean.
Are we in the singularity? Where the test stands, and what to watch
People have argued for decades about whether machines will one day outrun us. This site follows what the academics and the people building AI have said, and how their talk has moved, and sets a test of whether the singularity has begun. As of 18 October 2026 the test says not yet.

The tracker now follows what AI's leaders say is coming, and how their dates move
The people building AI keep telling us when it will match us, and their dates keep moving. I now keep a dated record of what fifteen of them predict, in their own words, beside the long-time thinkers who have watched the question for decades.

The home page now shows how far each part of the test has come, beside its answer
A bare "not yet" says nothing about whether anything is moving. The top of the home page now also shows how far each part of the test has come towards its line, always beside the part furthest behind, the economy, at zero. The answer itself has not changed.
Every change to the method and the record, including the ones no post explains, is in the changelog. The weekly readings are in the public record.
